a good friend

yesterday k and i headed into the city. we ate falafel's, hummus, got a mocha, stopped at ben & jerrys for k's. favourite ice cream and cuddled bellow the avon cinema sign waiting to see "babies". my friend sheila pregnant seven days past her due date surprised us along with her husband roger by excepting our invitation to the movies! can i just tell you how wonderful & kind she is not to mention how radiant she looks. i am really at awe and how lovely she has carried her first baby and now as she waits for her little boy who seems to want to linger in her belly just a little longer i am reminded how lucky it is for me to be able to call such a wonderful person a dear friend. i could not help but wonder what a mum and dad to be was thinking and feeling when watching " Babies" such a wonderful documentary following the lives of four babies from different corners of the world.

p.s. little guy you will love it in the embrace of your mom and dad so whenever you are ready i know they will be.

la vita

this weekend was quiet. i spent it at home with my dogs
and a couple of good conversation at the cafe. There was movies; la dolce vita and another game idea came to mind (sometime this week). there was reading hemingway in bed while sophie lay her head on my chest..sometime i think sophie makes it possible to say heaven on earth. there was also lots of thought about life and how we take turns that get us where we are but what if the turns you took were different, perhaps the destination would be the same but the journey... k and i talked about travel and how we miss the mountains. I am getting the house ready for the kids-to spend the summer( niece and nephew) and my trip to montreal next week to pick them up and enjoy a bit of the montreal jazz festival with my mum. we ended the weekend with k putting in a river runs through it on the tele, he looked at me and said this movie is going to make you want to move and i replied i was born wanting to move....

happy accidents

well the sun is having trouble coming out and staying.
trying to take pictures with natural light the only way i like has been trying. even in some mistakes i seem to find something pretty about them. i am thinking of weekends and the plans we make and how sometimes things change, but even in these changes there can lie beauty don't you think..

It is tuesday yes it is. I do hope you guys have amelie freshon the brain because tomorrow we shall play a little game! a few shots from my studio and more here

saturday

today early morning a friend and i headed to boston just as the fog was breaking. we made our way to tatte's bakery ( will surely become an addiction) in brookline then walked all over the city. there was so much going on a little bit of everything to tell you the truth. Got home to the quietness and the stillness that is needed after such a full morning. when i come home and am greeted by my dogs who have not eaten any of my shoes or books( sophie is like her mama she like's both very much) well when i am greeted with such a reception by them i feel like a rock start in my own living room.

p.s. speaking of rock stars guess who i will be seing in a few weeks with my sister in montreal! i will be thinking of alll of you as i listen to them sing the winner( i hope they sing it)

delicate things

it has been raining here for days.. weeks, perhaps
a few days in between of pure sunshine. my grass is long enough to braid and my colorful accessories are my variety of wellies! I also have been finding myself watching (okay obsessing) Rome the fall of the roman empire reenactments, so much betrayal and blood shed. oh the male ego dangerous thing! but back to the rain all though i am sure most people have had enough, when i finally lay my head on the pillow i have to say listening to the natural symphony that the rain plays is very beautiful.

k, the dogs and i are off to the cape for the day! hope to get sand under my feet while wetting my toes just a little bit! have a great day everyone!
