distractions

i have been a little distracted as of late. I promise to return soon.

things i am loving right now
looking out my window and seeing the horses graze
the chickens that are now laying in basket in my mudroom
the coop that is almost finished
the woodpeckers, blue jays( hundreds) and cardinals that look like ornaments all over the farm
that i finally learned how to knit and having people who want me to knit them things
the fact that i am being proactive on  certain somethings
k's friend sean and the kindness he show us
george for helping, always
rich for the warm fires and tea
jutta for knowing my heart belongs to star and for teaching to knit
my mum for being

what i would like you to know
i went to animal shelter yesterday to help prepare for a fundraiser
all the cats and dogs in the the cages made me cry, honestly all night i could not catch my breath
if you ever thought about adopting, do it i guarantee you it is the most giving thing you can give yourself, when you are looking at your holiday wish list why not think about it, the joy they bring you is so incredible and  special.

being here

i have spent the last few days doing the simple things that make for great memories. i have discovered a new forest, have shared fruit with the one i love, cried at words i have heard on the big screen. i have watched the ones i love sleep. it has been good and humbling. i have shed the glamour of the spotlight, the newspaper articles and have been left with something more rewarding a family.

lost

i am trying not rush this moment, just like i don't want to rush winter. ideas flow in my head and i am spinning, yet nothing sparks. I must learn to be still although it feels like i have been here for a long while now..but nature tells me otherwise. i want to skate on a icy pond and feel the sun shine so bright that i feel like heaven and earth have met. i am calm, i stare out and let the sun speak to me, i ask it will i be here for much longer and it's reply is simple..i do not know.

when you can't believe she's talking about you...

to say she did not move me with her words would be
untrue. to say tears did not roll down my cheeks would also be untrue.

i am also thinking of all of you, i wish you all can walk with me on the snowy hills of the farm.

winter color

sometimes i feel as if my camera shows me things i never saw the first time and when i see it here i want to go back. I want to stare into the sun and see clearly. lay in the snow and hold my husbands hand, talk about our dreams...are they the same as long ago or is it time to make new ones..

january love

I feel at home on the farm, snow covered hills and frozen pond. Sun
bright and high. dogs running and playing, the crisp air makes
my cheeks rosey and the little hidden treasure against the winter
landscape inspire me. I would find it hard to find a place
such as this one, that brings me such happiness and quietness i often long for.

when the sun stares at the frozen pond

a list of things remains on the counter ignored for the chance of a stroll at the farm under the sun above the hills. trails muddy, boots muddy and dogs are muddy but we run and play anyways. sometimes i wonder if the dogs think they are human or is it us acting like them. i feel the panic set in when i think of the list i left back home but as quick as it came in, the panic disappears as mud splatters all over me, we start laughing. sun brightly shinning we turn the bend around the pond, where i can see mother nature has a new form of art, leaf fossils set in ice make me happy, sunday at the farm makes me happy, a glistening path makes me happy....i think i am happy
