elements

i think you might be looking for post about europe, work and play and i apologize for again putting those posts off for a little longer.

I am sitting at the dining table a mix of grey clouds made brighter from a sun that is trying to pierce through. this weeks rain,  wind storms and fog brought clarity and somehow there is both a lightness to my step and  a heaviness that allows me to know that i am in the moment. I avoided so many things in the last few years in the hopes of protecting walls i had painstakingly put up but the last week i walked towards those and attempted to shake them to see that they will still stand if attacked and i think they will, yet one can not know for sure. so instead i decided to carve out holes like look outs in it's facade and by doing so the sun came into my being and it felt warm and kind and raw but without edge.

dear readers i do not often express wants of physical objects since i hardly want such things but i have had a deep desire to learn the cello or even more so the bass and would like to find one that might have a story, one that has been allowed to age naturally, if anyone should know of such i would love to know about her, it's time for me to no longer put it off. you  might like this, i have listened to it  for a few days now.

the photographs were taken once again with my phone a tool that sees how i see and i have come to except it as such. i hope you are well and that your weekend will be good i have been craving the ocean and will make a good attempt to see it and ask why she let the wind get the better of her, NY i am sorry for the heartbreak.

I am so excited about your cello thoughts. You're inspiring me to find a way to teach myself. I love that music link. You know of Zoe Keating, right? (I hope). Hope you find a beautiful instrument who needs a loving home...

I can only imagine how peaceful your days must be surrounded by such amazing beauty. I'm glad you capture them and share with us. It sounds like you've had a good week....and happy you were able to peek through those holes. Small steps often bring the biggest understandings and rewards. Not all walls are bad.
I do hope you find a lovely old cello soon. It will make visiting you even more special to hear your music on the hill.

The photos are lovely enough in their own right (especially the first two). Then to add your inner journey and discoveries and the hauntingly beautiful music? I especially like the image of the sun casting light inside your being. Let it shine.

Sometimes i read your post and think is she for real? Then i read what others who have spent time with you say about you and i am left with a little ache brought on by envy. Beautiful stuff is found here.

These photos and these words and that beautiful, beautiful music haunt me especially loudly this evening. I am looping views and listens and it feels wonderful to be losing myself here, inside and outside of your thoughts, again.

I know of no wise cello..., but.

Have you been listening to Yo Yo Ma? And then Heartland: An Applachian Anthology? This type of music is very dear especially during fall

I would love to learn how to play cello and bass, too. Although I know basic stuff for bass but still...

Also, I love how you described the sun; I like the feel when I read those words... so beautifully written. :)

the photos tell the weather story. damp fall beauty of woodlands and pastures.

it is the journey that counts...each persons journey is different. and everything has it's own time....a buddhist wisdom.

blessings.

Dear, dear Nadia,

My husband and I recently purchased land in Arlington, Vermont, where we're going to build our own little cottage. During the time we've been working to make our dream a reality, I've often come to your website for inspiration, to remember how beautiful it is in your part of the world, to remember what we're working towards. Thank you for being an inspiration to me!

As for the cello, I agree with the person who recommended listening to Zoe Keating. She is one of my very favorite artists.

My husband and I recently met an elderly couple whose daughter teaches adult cello lessons in the Bennington area. Maybe she knows of a special cello? I can give you their phone number if you're interested.

all the best to you,

Tara

Nadia,
Zoe Keating fills my work days with beautiful sounds ... her music is incredibly inspiring. I hope you find the same joy in the cello that she does. Your images are gorgeous.
