Our christmas today

dear friends i hope you are all well rested and ready for the new year i sure am, but before i can do that I must celebrate christmas and today is the day. it seems that our poor little grace(newfie puppy) was ill and we decided to spend the time with her during the holiday, so that meant no christmas in montreal- but montreal came to us on sunday and we are all ready to go, house decorated, gifts wrapped, treats in the fridge, cupboards and cookie jars and little hands and giggles all over the house!! tomorrow we will celebrate the end of the year and the beginning of the new one with seven children and no adults oh my! we decided to have a kids fest here!!! like i said oh my:)

driving in the snow

It has not stopped snowing since friday afternoon. I love it, i love driving in it, walking in it and playing in it. i love how the ordinary changes against the snow and becomes something more beautiful.

waiting for snow

schools are canceled, groceries stores were jam packed..warning storm is on it's way.. i, waiting and waiting for the sight of one snow flake, like a child waiting for grandparents to arrive.. i sit patiently at the window. Oh dear weather man please tell me you got this one right. I have mitts, boots and a hat at the door, my camera battery ready. I envision some grand snow fall covering every morsel of ground and dusting all the trees....i have buttons and twigs and a carrot to give life to a snow man. oh dear puffy white clouds please come down and play....

magical friend

somedays you wake up and you know that the day will be difficult, that you must do things that will scare you and your in it alone..but then someone says through their action of kindness, no, no your not and just like magic they make you feel happy and without a doubt you say to yourself how lucky you are to have such a wonderful and loving friend

round and round i go

i am thinking of you guys, i hope you are not feeling overwhelmed. how is your holiday prep going, do you get nervous or discouraged are there things you wish could be different?..or is it going okay, or even great! do you have bags to pack or guest rooms to set up, have you bought your gifts or made them...are you like me it does'nt feel like christmas without snow? do you have a secret wish...?

when the sun stares at the frozen pond

a list of things remains on the counter ignored for the chance of a stroll at the farm under the sun above the hills. trails muddy, boots muddy and dogs are muddy but we run and play anyways. sometimes i wonder if the dogs think they are human or is it us acting like them. i feel the panic set in when i think of the list i left back home but as quick as it came in, the panic disappears as mud splatters all over me, we start laughing. sun brightly shinning we turn the bend around the pond, where i can see mother nature has a new form of art, leaf fossils set in ice make me happy, sunday at the farm makes me happy, a glistening path makes me happy....i think i am happy
