forget me knots

i am in love with forget me knots. since i was a little girl i was intrigued by how delicate they are yet how they seem to grow in the most hashes of places. on my way home on the new dirt road i came across several patches. sunday while the rain fell hard i decided to gather some by the roots and see if i can transplant some to grow freely here at home. i also put them in a simple white pitcher and in my flower press for safe keeping.

it is funny how they are called forget me knots for every spring when i come across them i think how could i forgot them, they just might be my favourite spring wild flower, yet dear lily of the valley soon i will say the same about you.

* have  you ever had dandelion and burdock soda, i had not till today.

odd light in the afternoon and a visit

i am sorry for the very little post this week. much editing to do and a few unexpected things and learning to grow a thicker skin..

my mum will be coming this saturday and to say i can not wait would be an understatement. we have many things planned a few days in brooklyn, time in maine, time in boston, time connecticut and montreal but the thing i really can wait for is her calming words, breakfast on the porch and to just be by her side.

hope you are well dear readers as i type this i see a big branch swing by my window, i get up only to discover the cow clarabelle has left her pasture and decided to eat by my window.

when rain turns to sun

yesterday the clouds moved away, the rain stopped and we decided to stroll. walking around where i had walked many times before, my eyes wide open realizing that i had not been here in new england in the spring for many years now but in the desert of santa fe. Suddenly i was excited about discovering things i had missed in the past. mixed in with bright sun and a never ending loveliness was memories shared of our youth and far away lands.

i am daisie with love

K was swallowed by the flu. I would like to say i am the best care giver. truth be-told i go silent, i do not like seeing him sick and my thoughts seem to run too the worst case scenario. Yet yesterday he finally slowed down and had to take the day off. he spent it with me and i with him. it was a gift of a day! we walked, had coffee and read newspapers, we sat on our porch an devoured every type of fruit in the fridge ( full from the farmers market). we took an awake nap, walked the dogs and ordered grilled pizza and watched borrowed dvd series from my brother and ate ice cream. pretty good eh!

* i have sent all the swap information- if you have not recieved please let me know!

wisteria in the garden

the last few days have been a mix of photo shoots, oil paints, cafes(of course), long chats and dinners. we have walked to all the local markets, sometimes with camera in hand, other times with many dog leashes and once with a pint of ben and jerry's ( i know) but so goooooood! I have sat in my friends courtyard under the wisteria surrounded with green helicopters sprinkled just perfectly by mother nature. ivy and lavender lilly of the valley, yes lavender..it is magical here at times..
