winter in the woods and snow

it was as i hoped it to be, the weekend that is. lots of time outdoors, a film and another one this evening anna karinina. I can not wait to be outdoors again tomorrow, there is something that brings me happiness in the snow, it is so crisp and beautiful and as i walk under large canopies of ever greens and oak trees my spirit becomes unburdened by things that can weight me down.

I think is time to dive into books, it has been too long since i read a last page of any book, i wonder what it will be and where it will take me and whom i will meet in it's pages.  i also plan on purging many things in the house, things that clutter up drawers and closets and end up making me feel phobic. I also want to commit myself to a few things i put on my list when i first moved to the hill, one of those things is meditation, true meditation. on my last visit too santa fe, new mexico i visited a tibetan home where i was gifted the most beautiful piece of music perfect for reflection. I played  it for a month straight every morning and evening as k and hiked through the colorado mountains a few years back.

i hope you have a good week, would love to hear what you are listening and reading.

wonderful winter beauty

will you share the name of your music?

it is an honor that we can gather things around us that bring peace and beauty. for the most part, we can choose.

thank you for sharing.

I forgot to mention: being out in the snow when I passed a winter in Maine, I felt a powerful energy crisp and clean, clarity came easily to me that winter.

the beauty of the snow and hills is compelling.

Love the photos and the extra blanket of beauty and stillness the snow brings to the hill. Warms me to hear your weekend was as you wished.

I am guilty, haven’t seen a book through to the end in ages…. The last one that held me in its world was Let’s Take the Long Way Home. Currently reading The Mastery of Love, a gift from a friend.

A wondrous week of outdoor inspiration to you! Hugs to you and Sophie from Winslow and me.

Hey there ! Loved the snow-full pictures, and the shades of white lying there in. The sense of horizon and light in the pictures make them brilliant !
On the reading part, have got a new book The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom, but yet to start turning pages. :)
Have great time!

I am so envy for snow, I miss it so much and I need it also, it is kind of strange to say that. it seems my body crave for snow during the winter. I read a lot in these called day, they are perfect for it. Currently A tigers wife...

What a lovely walk through unspoiled snow you shared with us...your dog happily exploring along with you recording the journey with camera...and then sharing that with us. What is the meditation music you wrote about? Can you share the name of the CD?
Meditation as a regular practice is one of my top intentions for this year as I continue to write, to show up for time in my textile studio and to walk carefully along the river trails...the synchronicity of your word, simplify...hes, the letting go to be reused/recycled..the opening up of space without so much..all very good.
I truly enjoy reading your blog...thank you for the sharing with us around the globe.

I would love to hear that piece of music you heard in New Mexico. I too have been purging and just love to look at the "giveaway" pile I just created. I'm looking forward to doing a snow shoe trip with a few friends.... I'm still pining for snow!!!! As for reading ...... I might pick up the book I started while flying to France as I never finished it. Have a lovely week Nadia.

I just get all dreamy when I see your Great Pyrenees. That was our first pup when we lived in Michigan. We had him, Klondike, for 13 wonderful years. He LOVED the snow as I see yours does too!
