gentillesse

if i had not gotten stung twice, if the check had arrived in the mail, if the library books were not due, if  the wood had not come that morning i would have not found her there, falling from the hill crossing my path. if i decided to go left instead of right, if i had taken that call as i was walking out the door, if i had not forgotten the netflix movies and turned back, i would have not seen her cross the street into the forest. if i had the thick skin that people wish i had, if i did not listen to my inner voice, stare into her eyes, fall in love with her within minutes, i would have left her there in the shelter that said they would be happy to take her and were ready too. if i had left her i would have gotten a call the other day to tell me she was put down with fourteen other tiny kittens who where infected as parvo swept the tiny kitten room. if i did not leave with her in my arms she would no longer be. i only wish i could have done something more...

she was put in my path and i in hers. her name is gentillesse (kindness) and she has found a forever home, here on the hill with us.

in my life i have always had this thread and if i was to pull that tread it would take me back to the age of five ihave always been able to see my path through this thread.

thank you all dear readers, your hearts are SO BIG, for those who said you would be happy to take her i could not let her go but i know there is beautiful loving souls waiting for you at shelter near you.

* she is helping sophie heal-which is amazing. she is teaching sophie how to be gentle.

* pictures from the orchard- the apples were hot pink i am not sure what makes them that color and if it is a variety.  all i know is that among thousands of apples trees that were picked these were left. i so wish my camera was in better shape, so please forgive the blurr. i find photographing hot pinks, fushias and magenta can distort a picture. ( they do not allow those colors on television and now i know why:)! as far as tasting one, well i am afraid i can not- they spray the orchard with chemicals( a lot)

Your photos, as always, are awesome. But the one of the kitten snuggled up in Sophie's fur is precious beyond belief.

...God works in mysterious ways. :o)

...Hard to say what her future would've held if not for you. I too have angels such as 'Gentillesse' and their unconditional love and daily heartfelt gratitude is simply priceless. Everything happens for a reason.

...Thank you for taking her in to your heart and home. God bless you. :o)

...Oh! And I forgot about the apples! Do you know what type of apples those are? I thought for sure you had Photoshop'd the photos as those apples are such a vibrant color - beautiful! If they taste as good as they look then they simply must taste divine.

...Thank you for sharing the beauty around you.

...Now I'm done. ;o)

...Blessings

The most Gorgeous pictures, the most Beauteous kitten! Fills my heart with delight! She is living where she is meant to be; amidst the kindness that found her underneath that fern. Of course Sophie is a part of the healing of this sweet story. These creatures, you too, are so wise. So grateful this story has a happy ending. Congrats on your new baby!

that is the most lovely name! Don't ever change that big heart of yours, you were made that way for a reason.. I'm so happy you decided to keep little kitty! the things that happen in our lives no matter how tiny they are, and the paths we take all lead us to exactly where we are supposed be...

And what a beautiful kitten she is. We have a dog that I rescued from a kill shelter. She was not quite grown, and very weak. She had had parvo as a stray puppy, and survived, but her teeth never formed properly because of the high puppy fever. She had to have all the malformed teeth removed. She is now toothless Mathilda, survived against the odds, and the best watch dog on the block.

I believe certain things are just meant to happen too :) she belongs with you, and I'm so glad you're keeping her.

I am very pleased with the many "if it had not been so ..." So the little one had found at home. The picture - dog and cat - is divinely beautiful.

Life can by mysterious- I'm so glad the kitten has found a new home with you. She is darling, and I love the picture of her and Sophie.

P.S. Is your husband holding one of Gleena's beautiful bird cups? I wish she delivered to Europe...

My comment disappeared oops, just wanted to say I have loved reading these posts and what a beautiful time you and the sweet little tabby will have.

Thanks so much for your message, I mailed her and hope she takes down the 5 pictures of mine, all it takes is a link and a credit, right?

I KNEW you were going to keep her - we share that animal gene, you and I... her name is beautiful, as is she. And if you would be so kind as to share with me how you introduced her to your big fluffy love, I would greatly appreciate it - as I fear our big baby of a boxer would eat Kit were she to pounce on him the way she constantly threatens to do (in her desire to play with that big dark dog that her little kitten-self thinks would be the perfect playmate...)

dear kimberly,

right now the kitten is confined to our bedroom- we are waiting till she is old enough to be tested for cat leukaemia since we have two other cats in the house. sophie chases the cats something fierce, hence we believe her chasing the cat right after she ate caused bloat and that is why she instantly went to surgery. right now ihave sophie on my bed and i pet her- she is the biggest baby wants to sleep in my arms so i put the kitten next to her and the kitten crawls all over her and for the most part sophie lets her even sometimes that kitten will pat sophie eyes and mouth. now when sophie up and around i hold the kitty and i make sophie come to me , let he sniff around and such. will this work when the kitten is running around the house- gosh i hope that a few weeks of bounding in the bedroom will quiet sophie down, we have noticed a different she is not quick to chase the cats special when i say "sophie gentle"

ifs and threads... things that define destinies and fate. Gentilesse, Sophie, and you have a common thread... kind, gentle souls.

i feel obliged to add, that I am not at all surprised that she was home all along, but am also incredibly relieved.

She is beautiful and I am so happy that she has a wonderful home and loving kitty mum. (That would be you!) If it had been me who had seen her, I would have done the same thing as you. I'm very sorry to hear about the other kitties that had to be put down because they were sick. Those things break my heart and make me want to take all the animals in the world who aren't loved and love them to bits. I'm glad you have a soft and warm heart to take Gentilesse in.

I am so glad you kept her. I am sure she was meant for you. My brother found his cats as tiny kittens in much the same way, and they now live a happy cat life with my Mum. It was getting dark when he found them and it is only because they are largely white that he did. Fate can be a wonderful thing.

WHy do they spread the orchard with chemicals if these apples are not meant to be eaten?!
