A little premature, but I love 'Stopping by the woods on a snowy evening' by Robert Frost. I have a lovely children's book of it with beautiful pencil drawings. I look at it all through the winter. Lovely photos, lovely colours.

lovely images. i love robert frost's poetic sensibilities. here's a fall poem you might enjoy....

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

SO misty and romantic.
My hands are chilled just looking at these...won't someone hold them?

such a beautiful series of pictures. I can't believe the colours that you are having! here fall came and went in September....now it is grey with some snowy days.

amazing colours, such a beautiful slice of the world you have.

I hope the sky here is clear enough to take some pictures of my own like this, the muddy sky, strong winds and rain are making the deepest winter seem closer than any Autumn.

oh your shots of the horses are always my favorite- that one of them all clustered in the paddock is just divine.

feeling like some gary snyder poetry these days...his poems about kyoto in the autumn...or the pacific northwest in the fog...

Ahhh...I can imagine how crisp and fresh the air must have been during your walk. What a idyllic setting.

As for poems, one of my most favourite poems is Skin Divers by Anne Michaels. This is an excerpt:

"Because the moon feels loved,
she lets our eyes
follow her across the field, stepping from her clothes, strewn silk
glinting in furrows. Feeling loved, the moon loves
to be looked at, swimming
all night across the river."

And the last line:
"We roll over the edge into the deep field,
rise from under rain,
from our shapes in wet grass.
Night swimmers, skin divers."
