winter renewal

i feel renewed after a snow fall as if a second chance has been given. i had a list of things i wanted to accomplish but instead off putting it on paper, i wrote it on the walls of my mind. as the days progressed, like accidentally erasing parts of the chalkboard with my sleeve- i forgot what some of the list was. i have been living in the moment, of course that is great but it also comes with a price. lazy days admiring all the little things does not leave much room for the larger ones. weddings are booked all them promising to be inspiring. a few pictures and words have been published in a book, i am grateful for that. i help write and support legislation for animal rights and that too underway. accepting sponsors this is a big one- i am so picky i do not like moving things on my blog, things i have never tested, but a lovely group is starting to form.

the big things i have not had time for, maybe because i am scared to fail is the the state parks photo/video documentary, the baby making/adoption( terrified), the simplifying of stuff( could have sworn i did it:). the commitment to friends far away to visit and weight loss( a raw foodist once now i get fat in the winter!) than there is the new dreams that are taking shape. the snow fall lifts me and as the sun shines on the white landscape i feel as if things are getting brighter.

these are so quiet and beautiful! the ones of Pepper are so gorgeous, but they make me laugh too. It makes me imagine a dark horse just covered every inch in snow, and I almost forget that she is white as the snowflakes in the first place!

it's hard to just go ahead and tackle "the big stuff" all at once. I find it helps to take on a small piece of each goal, the one that relates to life today. For example, instead of "becoming a raw foodist today", maybe try "creating a great raw food meal today"?

Anyhow, you certainly have accomplished a lot. How many people can say they have been published? And these photos here alone are a fantastic accomplishment!

yes, don't forget to give yourself credit for all that you do get done. and the hard stuff, just one day at a time. keep us posted on the baby stuff. all those little haitian babies are really make me think about this more (but scared, too).

i always felt the snow wrapped one up in a blanket of comfort - it doesn't judge, it doesn't have any preconceived notions of who you are. it waits, it is patient, it listens.

i hope it continues to make your world into a beautiful new thing as you explore these new possibilities you mention!

snow - for me - brings a sense of calmness and beauty... nothing will give more joy than to sit in a farm looking at the outdoor, the animals and nature.... this i fell would make me very happy indeed - this will be a big thing for me, the rest will probably come with time as long as I am happy ...
I always have my list of things spinning around my head, sometimes i feel like giving myself a break with all this do-to - who said that we always have to accomplish, sometimes we forget that what we learn on the process is somethimes more important that the actual final aim.

as always i love your style, i sometimes feel so close to some of your thoughts - but at least you write them, I am still not corageous enough to do so ....more to accomplish!!!!!!

So, so many wonderful things you HAVE done and courage will be found when you need it most to tackle the harder things... be gentle with yourself. Living each moment of each day and savouring the beauty in that is something that many never achieve and you have taken that and turned into an artform and your photographs testify to it. That's amazing all on its own!

well., we all have our fears nadia. sometimes we just have to just jump blindly. i find the things i fear the most are the things i learn from the most as well. but i do think you should come/go visit friends that are away!:)
