i found her in the woods

yesterday on my way to the post office and library as i was coming to the end of the dirt road i spotted leaves in ball fall from a hill by the orchard. i slowed down, not sure why i did but then the tiniest little kitten running as fast as her short little legs would allow, crossed the road and ran into the woods. i stopped the car and went to try and find her. after about forty five minutes i found her hiding underneath a fern. i caught her. her big beautiful eyes did not leave mine. she is the sweetest little thing.

dear readers as you know i have a menagerie of animals and love every single one. i promised k.  that i would not bring one more living thing into the home, well maybe a plant or two. i went to the animal rescue and they would have happily taken her but when they told they had one hundred and two cats for adoption a lump in my throat quickly formed and i found myself walking out the door with her in my arms. i do not know why this kitten came into my life and knowing the vast country landscape that surrounds me i do not know exactly how i ever found her. so i am wondering if someone is looking for something to love. i would happily(crying the whole time) drive up to fours hours to deliver. i must confess when i found her i thought about one specific reader who i know has so much love if you want to give this living thing a forever home, please email me.

*ps. the photograph of her was taken today and not when i found her.
* the wood i stacked yesterday, how i love doing it
* i am sorry for the lack of photographs my camera is not well

oh she is beautiful! I wish I didn't live on the other side of the country (although I don't know if I could convince my husband to take in another cat!)

you are beautiful human being, Nadia.

Oh my! I am at a loss for words. How I wish I could add her to MY menagerie. If her big blues are so captivating in your picture alone, I can just imagine what they did to you when they met yours. She reminds me of my precious Sky,a kitty whose beautiful blues once met mine. My thoughts are with you and 'Little Blue'.

Grateful she found your loving arms! So very precious! I have been waiting for a kitten to find our farm... I've rescued too many to count over the years. Thank you for finding her. Warm wishes!

I am a big cat lover and keep too many strays[I now have 6] anyway 5 years ago a starving chocolate labrador wandered out the woods by my wood studio, we had 2 large German Shepherds at the time and just did not want another dog, 2 in the house is plenty. Well same thing, the shelter was full and I went out the door back to the car with him. He is still here, the best dog in the world, I don't think he has ever misbehaved, almost like he is so happy that he got to stay..sometimes I think animals just find folks who will give them a second chance.) no help I know but.....

in all honesty, if I lived anywhere near Vermont, I would take her. Alas, Australia is not only too far away, but a whole other country. So I've spread the word about her, and plan to provide a link about this post on my blog soon. I hope she finds a new home nadia.

I've rescued far too many strays that have been dumped in the park across the street from me. It breaks my heart every time to see them alone and defenceless. Poor little mites. I often wonder how many other homeless kitties there are in my area, without full bellies or anyone to give them a good scratch behind the ear everyday. Well done you for rescuing her. Fingers (and toes) crossed that some kind soul will take her in.

I don't like giving advice. I once took in a tiny kitty who looked so much like this one. The neighborhood children had found him and I took him in to find him a home. He was with us over 10 years and was the best cat in the world. Our Siamese cat accepted him and even liked him and she disliked all other cats. He was a wonderful addition to our home. He lost his life to either an owl or a weasel after we moved to the country. But we had 10 years with him.

If I was within a four hour (or less) drive of Vermont, I would scoop up the little darling in a heartbeat. I love cats, and all animals, but my apartment only allows cats, so... cats it is! I'm going to tweet this post in case someone else who lives closer by might be interested.

Hi Nadia,

I just contacted a local cat rescue agency here in case they had some contacts in Vermont and they said you should try emailing vanstreetcats@gmail.com

I hope this helps! Please keep us updated on this kitten's story.

Oh so so much cuteness. Lulu would love a little one one like this (and me too!_) My brother just adopted a grey kitten in late summer. We saw her in a pile of wood at the back of his garden too. She was wild at first. But gradually, she kept coming. And now she lives with them. Her name is grappa and Lulu loves her.

She is adorable!

P.S. I believe a stack of chopped wood is one of the most beautiful things. Wish I had a fireplace here in Arizona and weather to enjoy it.
