just a quick hello, we are having house guests today, aran and her two children will be coming for five days, we are excited to have them here. i thought i would share with  you another entry from my journal, since i have have a lot of cleaning to do before we head to Albany NY, to pick up aran. hope you guys are well and enjoying your season.

mucking july 9th, 2011
this evening after constructing a tin can phone i told the kids that it was time to muck, yesterday i almost had to (order) them to help me and we spent two hours out there they complained the whole time. this evening took no convincing at all and i swear they almost sang up the hill. every one shovelling into the wheelbarrow. dylan started to come up with ideas for the hundred acres, amusement park, our own cn tower,
a paid view but then he said what about a farm a real working farm, i said who would work it, he said you until we got here in the summer. he proceeding to talk about what we would specialize at, melons would not be good because they are difficult and late in the season he said, what about corn he said, the best corn ever, elle chimed in with what about eggs and blueberries, we can plant more shrubs maybe raspberries too. the sun was setting and there we were on top of the hill each looking at the sky with shovels in our hands and for a moment life was pretty darn perfect.

*pictures from around the farm and a walk.

The reality of a working farm and an amusement park are oceans apart.

The gift of first hand knowledge of work, physical labor, and the "feel good" that follows is priceless.

I enjoy your blog so much!

What a wonderful evening you must have had, dreaming dreams and planning plans. I love doing that, even if it's not something I'll ever do, I love to think about possibilities.
