where in brooklyn

my dear mum has been so patient with me, you see she is coming to visit in june and she would like to go to ny for a few days but more specifically brooklyn. we would like to be close to cafes, restaurants, shops, museum and garden/parks. everyday she sends me twenty listings for places to stay and i get all freaked out! you see for the most part i have always stayed in manhattan but like her i would like to stay in brooklyn but what area should we look for? i have asked my dear friend deb from bonbon so many times now to check a few listings( many) and she graciously reviews them, then i am too late to book and miss out! i am way to embarrassed to ask her again but perhaps you might have some ideas of what area would be nice to spend time in.

p.s. just ignore the ugly feet

Stay in Park Slope! 5th, 6th, or 7th ave, between maybe 1st-15th st. Neighborhoody, lots of cafes, cute shops, restaurants. Very near the park, museums, etc.

you're coming to brooklyn!!

i'm not sure where you should stay...our neighborhood (williamsburg/greenpoint) is definitely not the prettiest, but we do have some great cafes/restaurants/shops.

I'm sure Deb will give you the full rundown but some of my favorites: moon river chattel, sprout, marlow and sons, five leaves, motorino, van leeuwen, hotel delmano, bakeri. and of course the brooklyn flea in fort greene.

let me know if you have time for a coffee!

i love the shot of your sandals with the pansies. williamsburg is a great place to visit. lots of shops and restaurants. jennifer's list is great and there are some good vintage shops - ugly luggage is my favorite. dressler is my favorite restaurant. have fun!
