pieces of home

i did not realize that i had not showed you a bit of the farm house until i read your comments. i have not done much decorating at all here. i simply placed things down and have not moved them yet! when you live on eighty acres you seem to spend a lot of time outside. i have not even begun to tackle the two rooms upstairs and barely touched the master bedroom. i am looking at these pictures for this post and it is clear there is another side of things i will need to show you, a more quiet natural side full of simple textiles, woods and whites.

*these photographs are taken at various times since the move in. linens and pillows are placed oddly to prevent the dogs on getting the seating dirty, but it does not, they enjoy the seating very much:)

absolutely amazing place you have there. these photos are so rich and warm in light . i believe our tastes are similar in some regards - lots of whites, black and red with hint of yellow here and there, warm woods, and cottons - love them all

oh, I am so familiar with the feelings experienced while moving into a country home. those collectibles which were once important in an urban setting have now taken a silent voice. your surroundings are bigger than any items you can hold in your hand. please, embrace them as I believe you will, and concern yourself not with decorating your walls, but living the bounty. all peace
