lundi

today the sun shines beautifully, birds are chirping, a far away rooster lets us know a new day has begun. I like it here. My trip to montreal could have not been more perfect. Cafes, bakeries, the visit of historical places. Dinning with with my parents and having my mum and dad sing happy birthday made me happy, the whole weekend i felt like a daughter, a girl. sunday morning we woke up to the smell of my mums baked croissants, yes perfect.!

cherry bark! milkweed! wild asters! lichen! the summer it dies down, but fall is full of creeping, heaving, growing life as well if one knows where to look.

the animals love your mum. the pictures of your old horse in the dark are beautiful. sigh. a trusting horse, a mother's fresh croissants. happy birthday indeed.

So glad you had such a lovely weekend! Your photos are gorgeous. Truly inspiring.

We did go to Treats when we were in Wiscasset! You are right, it is so, so wonderful!! Then, on the way back to catch the ferry to the island from Portland, we stopped in Brunswick at one of our other favorite places, Frontier. Have you been there? It's a cafe/restaurant/movie theater all in one and housed in an old mill.

Do you ever come to Portland? If so, do try The Salt Exchange. We ate lunch there today and it was fantastic! Don't get me started, though, because I have such a deep love for Portland that I can sing the praises of favorite haunts here all day! xoxo
