driving home with paint chips from the local hardware store. the rain continuing to play on the roof of my car. winter had tried to announce it self this morning with beads of ice falling to the ground but it failed to make it's grand entrance. The paint chips are of dark grey colors which i had known from the very first day i saw this place i would want to live with this color. i do not know what it is exactly perhaps the first day of the last month of the year, but change is on it's way. i could feel it or perhaps i have wished for it so intensely that i have convinced myself i hear it marching towards me...my head spinning even while i write this, somehow as if my thoughts waltz all around me.

as your "ice shoe" photo is fragile, so is change. it waltzes in and then almost in a brittle way melts your world. allow it to stay frozen, instead of holding it, causing it to melt faster. sunshine will do what it needs to do at a time that is right.
I can't wait to see those grey walls nadia. I am SOOO intrigued and excited! These photos must be one of my favorite photos ever, I swear... but then again, I seem to say that a lot here!

I am so into grey right now. I finished doing our bedroom in a dove grey and I will do the same throughout the house with accents of dark charcoal grey. Grey is very soothing and clean looking.
i feel the chill of the weather, yet these photos convey such warmth to me... love them.
winter certainly seems to have arrived. but there's so much beauty to discover in it- and gray walls sound like an ideal backdrop.

Thanks, as always, for getting me thinking. Lately, I've been embracing a warmer, softer, palette. Colors that are elusive. Shades that are hard to name. Different colors on different walls, but mysterious, are they different colors, or is it the lighting? I've been enjoying these colors and nuances, and your gray palette sounds like a nice color to play with too. Have fun.
