Corine.. I hike in keen sandals no matter how steep and dangerous and skirts -easier for many reasons.(people think i am a nut at 16000 ft...and thank you for the compliment i was actually a mess...
oh--you've moved! exciting! and these landscapes are gorgeous--you captured them perfectly. (hey..we were hiking last year in Colorado too--outside of Aspen in the maroon bells to superstition hot springs...where are these? i want to go!)
yes!! i thought i recognized the trail! hmmm..we were there in july, but my jim just reminded me it was the year before last. my life is a blur at times...i think everything happened last year, last week, yesterday...it's such a beautiful place--i wish i could have stayed. (my brother works at the aspen institute for physics every summer and sometimes we try to visit him there.)

It's been years since I went to Colorado but it made me feel as welcome and comfortable as the mountain of my youth. I love that you hike in red :)

Memories of amazing vacations serve as quick getaways for me too sometimes, although no where near as good as the real deal!
Colorado holds a special spot in my heart...these shots remind me of why that is.
