a miracle.

Dear Friends, yesterday in court we were given the most beautiful gift, Poet's mother relinquished her rights making us Poet's only parents. I believe that all your well wishes along with my families help make this miracle happen.  I am, i believe still in shock, it was a very powerful and kind moment that i was able to share with her birth mother one that has not quiet sunk in yet.  I know that  this is real and beautiful and everything i had hoped for and now i wait to legally adopt my little girl to completely feel
the reality of this incredible news.  I love her so very much and i am heading home to montreal to be with my family and perhaps to be able to truly cry in the protection of their loving arms.

Thank you dear, dear friends i can never express that enough and in a short few months (to long still) i will be able to introduce you fully to this incredible being named Poet.

Oh wow it makes my heart happy to read this. I'm so happy for you - and for Poet - that you've found each other and will be able to stay together. I look forward to hearing more about her as you continue on your journey.

Dear Nadia the true miracle happened when she was first put into your arms. You were a mother and daughter then. Joe and I are thrilled for you and can't wait to see tons of pictures of little Poet. xoxo

Dear Corine,

Yes that is true- we believe that there has been miracles all though out our journey. I loved her the first second i met her and perhaps even before that. It is hard to know how to feel or what words to associate with all that is happening and how much to share and not to share but just like our journey to the hill, we know that it was meant to be and that every step, miss step, path brought us to her and her to us and that i get to share my life with her is a dream come true.

thank you Joe and Corine for your kindness

Nadia, I'm so happy to hear the news. Ever since hearing that Wednesday would be a big day, I have spoken your and Poet's names in prayer and I know many others have done the same thing.

How blessed you both are to have each other. I thank God every day for allowing me to parent my beautiful daughter, and for the woman who surrendered her rights.

Adoption is truly an amazing thing.

God bless you and your family as you celebrate.

The photo is just adorable.

The uniting force of love surpasses everything … there has been so much love in your heart for this little girl … and in her birth mother's heart as well, ...that made the miracle happen … to give the child the opportunity to grow up in the environment that is best for her. Congratulations to all of you! Dorit

Of course I am so very happy for you and K, but my real joy is for this beautiful little soul that has found her place in this great big world. Let the adventure begin!

As soon as I saw your entry title, tears welled in my eyes. The love and generosity, pain, heart ache and human connection that went on between all of you in that courtroom was a testament to the goodness of all of you and the power of a little child to bring it all about. The contrast of pain and elation is just like the process of giving birth and may you be high on joy for a very long time.
Congratulations on your new little family
