a hike and gun shots (a rant)
this weekend we did a small hike in arcadia state park, it was lovely but i could not help be distracted by shots, yes gun shots from a firing range somewhere nearby. it made me dive deep into thought, i started to think about off shore driling, removing wolves form endangered species list, whaling( hunting of whales) allowing guns in national parks and not to mention many more. i feel somewhat confused and disappointed in this list, you see k and i feel misled. i believed that the things in this list would be protected by this administration, i believed that those things, the environment, animal welfare and so on was fundamentally democratic? did we not ask where he stood on these issues. please do not get me wrong there is so much i do agree with and understand that perhaps he( obama) must pick his battles but this list is sounding much more like it belongs to the tea party! and those are mean *@%&*^*!( oh man, i know but i just had too)

this is our new little big guy
that is right for all those who know me well enough, we have a cat( i know). we fell in love with this giant maine coon cat named bullet at the shelter and we knew he would be great addition to the family and finaly after a few months( yes custody battle of sorts) he is home. he is so sweet and gentle. although i don't understand the motivation to have named him bullet, he knows it well and so we will respect it. right now sophie is barking at the tiny kitty we are watching on the stair case, lets just say she is probably saying where did these cats come from and someone get me the salt!

where in brooklyn
my dear mum has been so patient with me, you see she is coming to visit in june and she would like to go to ny for a few days but more specifically brooklyn. we would like to be close to cafes, restaurants, shops, museum and garden/parks. everyday she sends me twenty listings for places to stay and i get all freaked out! you see for the most part i have always stayed in manhattan but like her i would like to stay in brooklyn but what area should we look for? i have asked my dear friend deb from bonbon so many times now to check a few listings( many) and she graciously reviews them, then i am too late to book and miss out! i am way to embarrassed to ask her again but perhaps you might have some ideas of what area would be nice to spend time in.
p.s. just ignore the ugly feet

take time to smell the peonies
i hope you all had a wonderful weekend. my peonies are blooming but i have not had a chance to smell them. it has been busy and challenging, this weekend went by fast. today will be about finishing projects and making my porch on the farm house more inviting, it will be about giving love to a visiting kitten, preparing for a giant beautiful addition to our family and preparing something good for k upon his return from a five day absence! and hopefully i will have a chance of speaking to a new mama.
how are you?
