pieces of old
last year they dug up the boston common to put in new irrigation, i think i posted about it before. well one day upon visiting i noticed pieces of old china and pottery all over the common as if it was growing out of the dirt. i only had a few minutes, so i collected as much as i could. till now i just kept them in a dish. friday afternoon while trying to calm my nerves, i decided to string them and hung them at my front door.

what an interesting way to display your pottery shards! i grew up in an old house in ct, and every time my mom and dad dig in the garden, they find another pottery shard to add to their collection! happy monday!
The art of display.
Brilliant idea!
great idea, and very nice blog!
Aw, what a welcome sight that must be! There's something so ancient and delicate about dig up shards of pottery.
Ah! I just broke a much loved ceramic bowl. I now know, thanks to you, a way to salvage. Peace and Giggles to you today Sweet Lady.
whimsical nadia!
lovely! and it makes me miss boston.
these are wonderful! i wonder whose they were..you have strung a little history for yourself--i love it...
How beautiful...It looks like something you would find in a child's secret clubhouse (that's a good thing :) ). The pictures have a feeling of melancholy about them - it's like people, we break and tie the pieces back together again, forming new and interesting things.
