nadia go lucky!

i am lucky and i know it. waking up at four am to drive my husband to the train, i am grateful for a few minutes with him in the morning, even though sometimes spent in silent..okay rarely since i seem to have a sense of humor in the morning. I like being in the city when all is quiet, but welcome a morning song on the radio, sometimes i choose or just let the radio choose for me. as i drive back i think of things like the impromptu dinner i made for k. sam and david last night and how i love to cook. I think about how we played with our dogs and how i pretended to break dance for k. how we chased each other up the stairs and back down again, and how my mission is to scare him as i hide over there. as i pull into my driveway i like looking at the house and the how it is gently lit. grace welcomes me as if i have been gone for hours and sophie lies on the bed upstairs waiting. I give the kitchen a quick clean and walk up the stairs and try to lay in the bed before grace joins sophie and leaves me no space. the phone rings and k. checks i made home safe he says thank you and i love you. now tucked in just right each dog lays their head on my belly and as i go in and out of thought the one that is clear to me is how lucky i feel to be loved.
when is the last time your whispered to yourself " i am lucky"

Yesterday actually, one of my very closest friends is having a particularly hard time and as I tried to comfort her a little I realised how lucky I am. I don't think she has had the time to laugh or take a minute for herself in months.

My husband and I are so lucky to be such close friends. We are going to spend a day spoiling her. Try and ease some of her problems even if its just for a few hours.

I also feel lucky to have found you and your wonderful thought provoking blog. Happy mid week to you Nadia.
