Sofia, Sofia, Sofia and autumn swap

everyday i run down my spiral staircase, put what ever sweater is hanging on the door grab the leashes and take the dogs outside lately it has been evident that as i step outside..it is autumn. I come back in turn the espresso machine on take my sweater off, open drapes, pull up blinds turn classical on...clean counter tops, feed the dogs, make my mocha..then i sit on my red stool and visit my friends/bloggers around the world. one of those places i visit as i sip my mocha is france and more specifically sofia. monday, wednesday and friday i can not wait to read her words and view the pictures she chooses to go along with them here i have to tell you if you have a journal..you might just think that she is the voice to your thoughts, sometimes so paralele to my life that it leaves me breathless...such as this one did....

On my hand,
a suitcase full of dreams
and hopes.
On the eye
the euphoria of novelty.
This is how I left
my country, my land,
for a corner of idyll
by your side.

but if that was not enough to demonstrate sofia's talent, gift, calling.. i was lucky enough to visit her show in Warren RI. Sofia herself could not attend her opening or visit this little quaint town so i thought i could be her eyes.... so come along now

i have to tell you that as i viewed her work in person, i found myself lost in every stitch, color, photograph that she so delicately married together...one gets the sense that she is sewing life's pieces that are fragile in such away that you believe that she is capable of making people out of thread, paint and photographs. all while breathing life in to each piece and giving them a voice

I can say many more things about sofia, like the fact the she chases light and shadows in her blog inventaire des ombres and that on her blog by her name Sofia Barao you can find her vintage finds, recipes and how she observes life and lives it in her way, her special way of being sofia

OKay now for the swap Sofia autumn swap, i am lucky to have been able to participate...so after receiving my swapees name and her/his and based on the things that bring comfort i put together this little bundle...i hope the person likes it!!

tea from tealux, organic chocolate, cork votive holder, mint egg garden from smp, more tea and tea bag plates, natural tea bags, silver charms from karen hill tribe, gilded card reminded me of autumn, postcard and a book that would surely reveal who the person is...so we will keep that a secret...

I'm in shock here Nadia, I wasn't expecting to see my name on your blog today and even less to read all those words that made my heart shiver and my eye cry.
Thank you thank you, merci for those pictures around Warren, some of my artworks are still there and I know I could not have seen that town, but thanks to you I did and it is just beautiful.

Today I got up saying to myself that this was going to be a very exciting and a change week. And I was right, because it already started with you.

Your morning routine is wonderful, just as wonderful as your beautiful swap parcel, wow ! Love it, love it !

As I said before here, I am so glad to have you as a friend, especially beacause we have so much in common and I think this is why a blogger friend is so much important and special. We can see ourselves through someone else miles apart.

Merci Nadia,
love
Sofia

Such a sweet post and lovely comments to each other.

I love reading how blogging entwines once strangers together as great friends.

what a fabulous post!! How special that you were able to go to her exhibition and be her eyes - it must have been quite surreal to be standing in that room, surrounded by Sofia's work, and perhaps knowing her more intimately than others who visited. Oh I love our little blogging world!

Your swap partner is so lucky - what an awesome collection of nadia goodies!! xx

How beautiful is Sofia's work. And WOW I am jealous of your swap partner! And, glad I am not yours, cause the swap anxiety of matching your incredible package would kill me. :p

the town looks so lovely. I am so delighted you will be able to go and see my work and the show. It makes me very happy. I sent a number of pieces.

And your lovely package of comfort reminds me of how deeply I miss Tealuxe Masala chai. When I lived in Cambridge I lived on it.

the show is up from June 19-July 19. I so wish I could listen to music in the Yes garden with you.

Thank you for your enthusiasm:)
