a weekend by the beach
What a gorgeous weekend( although record heat had me running for shade) we decided to take an impromptu camping trip by the shore. we started off by walking around Portsmouth nh, then sitting in the shade at a cafe sipping a cold drink and chatting to many dog loving folks. then we walked on rye beach for hours just before sunset, it was perfection. in the evening we sat by our campfire, while the most incredible ocean breeze kept us cool and we reminisced about the past and talked about the things to come. the morning the birds from the state preservation that we where camping at sang and sang in fact there was so many varieties so many sounds that it really got noisy!

steel magnolia
i remember the movie well. A group of women, strong women. I had always known the strength of women. my grandmother was incredibly strong and yet when she sang she was as delicate as a butterfly, my mum her strength, her beauty was so powerful. my godmother impressive spent forty years in university, mrs sinette my english teacher had (balls). men well they were children, the ones around me that is. Later my sister was born and she has proven to be one of the strongest women i have ever met. Although i never developed friendship with women easily and maybe that was because i was not missing it at the time in my life. My friends were male, yet i never believed them to be stronger than i, i could get the job done, i could take care of my family, i could keep people from harms way. All this was instilled in me, this is what i knew, my mum knew and her mom knew, like i said instilled in us. then K. came into my life, he was kind and gentle yet it was hard for me to believe that anyone else but me could take care of me. this last year after sixteen years together (holy smokes) i have realized i could lean on him and he would not crumble, i could get tired and he would take it from there. for the first time i realized that some men can also be made of steel, covered in cotton.

flowering snow in the springtime and mother earth
around the corner from where i live there is a glimpse of heaven!
It is hard to believe the earth is in trouble in the spring time. when things begin to bloom and birds fly and sing above us. the earth is in trouble and has been before i was born, before we where born. It is easy to live in denial as we smell the fragrant flowers and eat the juiciest berries, but it is. I am not doing enough, i know it. so perhaps we can share how you have helped mother earth take care of us by lending her a hand and maybe we can learn form each other. maybe we can express the things we are having trouble with and help each other do the right thing. I love the blue skies, swimming in the ocean, hiking up mountains, but when i am to afraid to pick a berry, an apple or a peach and eat it right from the tree it takes the romance right out of it!

addiction
I love the snow, i have never made it a secret in fact i have been known to shout it from roof tops. Spring and it's beginning has my heart and my attention. the very first bud that forms on a tree, the rising stems of the daffodils, the birds who announce the morning. then you feel it, the air, the sun and the rain working together and suddenly a symphony of blooming trees as far as the eye can see. oh i am addicted, addicted and yes i will be taking you with me through my addiction!
*this song brings me happiness so i will play it a little longer(forgive me)
